Born on the edge of paddy field, stream or wet grassland, below 2000 meters above sea level. Herba scutellariae enjoys a warm climate and a humid, semi-cloudy environment. The soil requirements are not strict, cultivation of deep soil, loose, fertile, well-drained Sandy loam or Humus Loam as well. The soil is sticky heavy and the low-lying plot is easy to accumulate water not suitable for planting. It is often wild in hilly and flat areas of the field edge or next to the stream.
