After dormancy and overwintering, the seeds germinate when the temperature and humidity are suitable from March to June of the vertical year. The embryo roots of the seedlings extend into the soil, and the buds rise out of the soil surface to form filamentous silk, in the air to rotate back and forth, meet the suitable host on the above, in contact with the formation of suction root into the host. When the sucking root entered the host tissue, some tissues differentiated into vessels and sieve tubes, which were connected with the vessels and sieve tubes of the host respectively, and absorbed nutrients and water from the host. When the parasitic relationship is established, the stem continues to grow and branch, covering the entire canopy, usually flowering in late summer and bearing fruit in autumn. When it is mature, the capsule ruptures and releases seeds.
