Dioscoreae Rhizoma Tubers oblong-terete, growing vertically; stems usually purplish red, dextral, glabrous. Leaves Simple, alternate in lower part of stem, opposite above middle, rarely 3-foliolate; leaf blade variable, ovate-triangular to broadly ovate or hastate; leaf blade generally broadly ovate or ovate when young, base deeply cordate.
